The first Muslims who arrived in Albuquerque in early 70’s began their Juma’ (Friday) service at University of New Mexico Chapel. Later they moved to the back of Muslim businessman’s store. The first mosque/Islamic Center opened its doors in Albuquerque, New Mexico in December 1986. About twenty years later to meet the growing needs of the community, a new and expanded Mosque/Center was built in October 2006.
